Free State Takes Revenge Over Indians
The final day of the Winget Tournament was not too kind for the Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians Sunday afternoon as Free State pounded Bartlesville 11-3. The Indians led 1-0 going into the top of the third when Free State tied the game at one, then scored four runs in the fourth and five runs in the sixth to secure the victory. These two teams met Thursday night as Bartlesville won 3-1. Free State was hot at the plate getting 18 hits to Bartlesville's four. Of those four hits, Wes Shaffer and Chase Fiddler each got a double. Shaffer took the loss on the mound dropping his record to 1-1. In over five innings of work, Shaffer gave up seven runs on 13 hits and struck out three.
Will McDaniel was named to the Winget All-Tournament team. In the four games, McDaniel went 7 for 14 at the plate with three doubles and five RBI's.
Indians are now 16-17 overall and will host Parsons, Kansas Monday night at 6 o'clock. It's also KWON Night at the Ballpark. Come around 5:30 P.M. for all of the Pre-Game activities.
