Pawhuska City Manager Paul McAlexander was arrested late Tuesday night on a charge of obstruction of a public officer.

McAlexander turned himself into authorities around 9:45 p.m. after an arrest warrant was issued for him on Monday. He was booked into the Osage County jail just before 10 p.m. and was then released shortly after he was able to post his bond.

The charge was filed in the Osage County District Court, and it stems from an incident back in July where McAlexander told Pawhuska police officers to not arrest City Attorney Jesse Worten III following a drunken driving accident where Worten crashed his car near his own home.

The charge against McAlexander came after an investigation was conducted by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

His next court date is August the 28th.
