BHS Construction Update

The first BHS football game of the season is three weeks away and if you've driven by Custer Stadium this week you may have noticed something missing, a scoreboard. Since the new ninth grade center encroaches on the stadium on the south side, the scoreboard is being moved to the north side of the field. Although the project is still in progress, it is expected that the job will be done in time for the first football game on September 5. As for the remainder of the construction BPSD Community Relations Director Chris Tanea says progress is being made at the speed expected. A new connecting link between the field house/fine arts center lobby to the rest of the building is quickly taking shape and is expected to be complete before it gets cold this winter so students may use it to move between buildings while staying inside. The plan calls for the ninth grade center and new labs to be complete in time for classes to be held in them at the beginning of the next school year.
