A local woman is wanted after reports show she may have stolen more than 138 thousand dollars from Elder Care. According to a probable cause affidavit, Carol Louise Hobbs embezzled more the money over nearly four years by writing checks to herself or making checks out to petty cash. These checks were either signed using a signature stamp or by Hobbs forging the signature herself. According to BPD there is also evidence of Hobbs using the drive thru at a local bank with the fraudulent checks. The funds were discovered missing after Elder Care conducted an audit at the end of last year. Bartlesville police were alerted to the possible theft in December 2013.
