Brown in More Trouble
A man already in jail for alleged domestic abuse found himself in more trouble Wednesday during his arraignment in Washington County District Court. 22 year old Brandon Brown appeared via closed circuit television before Special Judge Kyra Williams for formal arraignment on charges stemming from an incident where he allegedly attacked his pregnant girlfriend. During his arraignment, Brown refused orders to stop talking and Judge Williams ordered his removal from the arraignment room at the county jail. As he was leaving the room Brown swore at the judge, earning him 30 days in jail for direct contempt of court. According to a court affidavit, Brown allegedly slammed his girlfriend to the ground in the middle of the street and strangled her. The victim was able to get away to a convenience store to call for help. Brown's bond remains at $150,000.
