Thunderstorm Keeps Police Busy
Heavy rain and wind kept Bartlesville Police busy Tuesday night. After receiving more than an inch of rain in an hour along with winds that caused power outages and felled a few trees, the City of Bartlesville had to deal with flooded streets and darkened stoplights. Officers were forced to close a portion of Adams Boulevard in front of the Community Center where a car stalled in high water. Officers were able to clear the drain and move the car from the road. In front of Wal-mart, at the intersection of Green Country Road and Highway 75 a power outage forced officers to direct traffic until power was restored to the stoplight. Although the storms that hit were not severe, wind gusts of more than 45 miles per hour were recorded from the storm.
