Commission Reviews Eight Year Plan
The Washington County Commissioners spent most of their meeting Tuesday discussing the future of bridge projects in the county. Russel Dixon of Guy Engineering presented to the commission the eight year plan, which is required by the state for use of state funds. Besides trying to ensure that the worst bridges get the most attention, Washington County Commissioners also try to spread projects evenly between all three districts so all citizens of the county see the positive use of the bridge repair funds. Commissioner Gary Deckard also says that the biggest difficulty in creating the eight year plan is projecting the cost for repairs to bridges.
No action was taken on the eight year plan at this time, but the plan must be approved by early June.
