Grass Fires in Green Country
Grass fires have been popping up all over green country, the latest southeast of Bartlesville. According to an official at Washington County Emergency Management, three fires have burned today. The first was west of Bartlesville which was fought by Hulah and Osage Hills Fire Departments. Later Wednesday, the Ramona Fire Department responded to a small fire. At about 1:30 Wednesday, a third fire was reported North of County Road 2400, or Moose Lodge Road. By 4:30 the last fire had been brought under control although it took fire crews from 8 different departments to put it out. The area is still in an elevated fire risk through Thursday due to high winds and low humidity.
