The Washington County Commissioners have taken more action on the 2.39 acres just north of the County Fairgrounds in Dewey that they surplussed last week.

A final conveyance resolution and a quit claim deed were unanimously approved by the Commissioners on Monday. Commissioner Mitch Antle said a terminated lease with Dewey Public Schools for parking on the property last week led to this decision as well. He said the dispostion resolution allows them to convey a property such as the property they surplussed last week with a city or town for any purpose authorized by law.

The approved quit claim deed conveyed the property to the City of Dewey. The Dewey Public Schools Board of Education also terminated its lease with Washington County. Then, Superintendent Vince Vincent said actions were being taken for the potential of a Boys & Girls Club to be built close to DPS on the property in question.
