Wesleyan Christian at Welch on Friday
Another area football club who is on the uptick is Wesleyan Christian School.
The Mustangs won their first game of the season handily this past Friday, beating Watts on the road 45-0. WCS starts its quest to challenge for a Class C District 3 title on Friday night with another road game at Welch.
The 45-0 win over Watts happened in one half, thanks to a great ground performance from Mustang tailback Kaden Fisher. Fisher scored three of the four rushing touchdowns in the two-quarter win over Watts.
Head coach Curt Cloud says he was pleased with the way his team responded after an 0-2 start.
Welch is 3-0, but has three wins over weaker opponents. Some publications do have them ranked in the top-10 in Class C in the state. A 7:00 kick on Friday night.
