Day No. 3 action in the Caney Valley Tournament kicks off on Thursday evening in Ramona.

There are several games with local implications, as Thursday's semifinal contests will decide who will make the title games on Saturday evening.

We will have both the boy’s games on the radio. Game one will be between Oklahoma Union and Liberty. The Cougars had their way with Wesleyan Christian back on Tuesday, while Liberty shut down Copan. That game will tip at 5:30 PM.

Meanwhile the nightcap around 8:30 will feature Barnsdall and Caney Valley. The Panthers dispatched of Chelsea easily in the first round. Tonight’s matchup between Barnsdall and Caney Valley will be the third of the season between the two clubs. Barnsdall won the first two matchups – 63-30 On Dec. 4 and 62-45 on Dec. 18.

If the Oklahoma Union and Barnsdall win tonight – it would set up a rematch from last year’s thrilling finals game and pit two of the best teams in the area against one another. Barnsdall head coach Clif Warford says he has thought about that possibility, but he isn’t about to overlook his opponent tonight in Caney Valley.

The Oklahoma Union and Liberty girls start things off on Thursday evening at 4:00 – Caney Valley will face Chelsea at 7:00 on the ladies winner’s bracket as well.

Both boys games (Oklahoma Union vs. Liberty and Caney Valley vs. Barnsdall) will air around 5:30 and 8:30 on KRIG 104.9.
