Price Drops 35 as Ironmen Cruise past Barnsdall

The No. 12 Nowata Ironmen registered their third win of the New Year on Tuesday night as they dismantled Barnsdall, 84-52. Mark Price dropped 30 points in the first half on seven three-pointers in the victory. This deep three closed out one of the best half’s of Price’s career.

Nowata’s excellent outside shooting continued as it hit 13 total shots from behind the arc. The Ironmen blitzed Barnsdall from the beginning as they scored 31 first quarter points. Nowata led 54-30 at half.

Barnsdall played well in the third quarter. The Panthers and Ironmen each scored 13 points in the period before Nowata would pull its starters. Barnsdall’s Joshua Weber scored 13 of his team-high 23 points after the break.

Senior’s Trenton Smith and Jayden Bowman were big factors in defense and rebounding for the Ironmen. Nowata has won five consecutive games. The Ironmen are 7-1 overall. The team won’t take the court again until a January 12 road bout against Dewey.
