The Oklahoma Union Cougars will be in playoff action for this first time since 2006. The Cougars have a tough matchup against Morrison, a 9-1 football that has been a stalwart in the Class A playoffs. The Wildcats suffered an overtime loss to Thomas-Fay-Custer in the state quarterfinals last season.

OKU head coach Stephen Trammell gives a scouting report on Morrison.

Trammell says the similarities are apparent between the two squads. Depsite the change to the spread offense the run game has been a pillar for Oklahoma Union’s success. Mason Seigel started the season in the backfield but has since moved to quarterback. Between him and Joey Russ the Cougars potent running duo has racked up over 1600 yards on the year and found the endzone 12 times. Trammell says long, methodical drives could define this game.

The winner of this matchup will take on the winner of Talihina and Stroud next Friday. Kickoff from Morrison High School is set for 7:00 p.m. Radio coverage can be heard on KRIG 104.9 FM starting at 6:45 p.m.
