Pawhuska Working Hard During Offseason

Pawhuska was one of the local teams that finished 2017 without a win - but new leadership has worked to turn that around for 2018.

The Husky’s are under a new coaching staff this season, as head coach Matt Hennesy came over from Locust Grove. Numbers of players have been much better, with about 35 guys out for summer pride workouts this summer.

Pawhuska has also dropped to Class A this season, after being a Class 2A staple for several years. Going into fall camp next week, Hennesy says he doubts that anyone has outworked his club this offseason.

Hennesy mandated that in order to be a part of the varsity team, players had to attend at least 90 percent of the summer pride workouts.

Pawhuska starts its Matt Hennesy era with a home game against Kellyville on zero week, August 24. The Huskies then travel to Oklahoma Union on August 31 and Woodland on September 7.

We have the entire Pawhuska schedule available HERE- along with many other area teams.

We will air Pawhuska football this season on Sports Talk 99.1 FM – KPGM with voice of the Huskies, Kevin Anthony.
