Oklahoma Wesleyan star outfielder Drenis Ozuna might not have been selected in the Major League Baseball draft last week, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t playing high-level baseball. Ozuna, just a junior, plans on returning to school at Oklahoma Wesleyan next year. But for now, Ozuna is playing amongst college baseball’s elite in the prestigious Cape Cod Collegiate Summer League.

Ozuna is playing for the Chatham Anglers, a team coached by Tom Holliday. Holliday coached Oklahoma State’s baseball team from 1997 to 2003 and is the father of current OSU coach Josh Holliday.

Ozuna made his debut on Monday night. He went 0-for-4 but did make a dazzling diving catch in the outfield. Ozuna was named an NAIA All-American for his performance during the 2019 season. Ozuna hit .437 with 22 home runs and 13 doubles. Ozuna slugged an outrageous .844. Those stats made him an option for Major League Baseball teams during the draft earlier this month, however he went undrafted -for now.
