OKWU Sweep Kansas Wesleyan

After falling to Kansas Wesleyan University on Thursday afternoon, the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team got their revenge on Saturday as they swept KWU 15-8 and 11-2 to finish fourth place in the KCAC.

In the first game, KWU led 6-0 going into the bottom of the third inning and that's when the Eagles responded.  OKWU scored two runs in the fourth, two runs in the sixth, seven runs in the seventh, and three runs in the eighth to take care of the Coyotes.  KWU out hit the Eagles 18-12.  Hugo Lemus got the win on the mound.  Will Price went 2 for 5 with a double, a homerun, and 3 RBI's. Scott Weaver, Sean Baumes, Brendan Garafola, and Mikey Ortega each got two hits.

In the second contest, the game was tied at two going into the bottom of the fifth when OKWU scored six runs and scored three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to complete the sweep.  Carlos Aldana got the win on the mound by giving up two runs on six hits and struck out seven batters. Ortega went 3 for 3 with a RBI.  Asa Manship, Trevor Achenbach, Alejandro Hernandez, and Will Price each got two hits.

The Eagles conclude the regular season with a 36-18 record and 21-15 in conference.  The Eagles will more likely face Kansas Wesleyan in the opening round of the KCAC Tournament later this week.
