Nowata - Dewey Split Hardcourt Twin Bill
It was the second full-night of high school basketball across Northeast Oklahoma on Tuesday - with many team lacing up the shoes for an early-season tip off.
Up in Dewey the Ironmen and the Doggers split their double-header. First, the Nowata girls won a tight one, the Lady Ironmen beat Dewey 50-49.
The guy’s game wasn’t as close , as Dewey caught fire from beyond the arc and pulled away in the second half. Dewey beat the Ironmen 64-51.
Blaze Ripey was a big part of that second half that led the Doggers to the win. This three-pointer to begin the fourth quarter gave Dewey its biggest lead up to that point.
Dewey improves to 1-1 on the year, Nowata falls to 1-1.
Nowata is right back after it on Saturday evening – at home against Welch – as the Ironmen will dedicate their basketball floor to Ty Hewitt – former Nowata Athletic Director.
We will have that Ironmen boys game on Saturday on KRIG 104.9 FM.
