The Nowata Ironmen fell short of the state tournament as they couldn’t knocked off Ketchum for a second time in the postseason. Nowata lost 62-55 in the Area II consolation finals.

The Ironmen offense could never find a rhythm in this contest as they had just 19 points at halftime. The Warriors defense effectively locked down Zen Callahan. The Ironmen’s all-time leading scoring had just five points on the night.

The supporting cast tried to pick up the slack as Zach Brock, Ronald Smith and Bryce Hewitt all tallied double-figures in the loss.

Nowata trailed by 16 points late in the third quarter and with their backs against the wall the Ironmen responded with a 13-3 run early in the fourth quarter to make it 48-42. However, Nowata could never get the lead down to one possession.

For the second straight the Ironmen lost and had to watch their opponents celebrate a bid to the state tournament.

The Ironmen finished the season with 21-6 record.
