Lady Eagle Softball Drops First Regional Game

The Lady Eagles ran into a pitching dynamo on Monday afternoon in the opening round of the NAIA Tournament. 

The Oklahoma Wesleyan softball team fell  in its first-round game against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. USAO topped the Lady Eagles 3-0 to send them to the loser’s bracket.

Wesleyan is now one loss away from elimination. OKWU was no-hit in the contest, USAO starting pitcher Emily Cerny threw all seven innings. She struck out 13 of the 22 batters she faced. The Lady Eagles committed five errors defensively.

Wesleyan will play for its season on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 against Jamestown, North Dakota. Jamestown lost on Monday to Midland, Nebraska 1-0 to enter the loser's bracket.
