Lady Bruins Take on Shawnee in Area
The Bartlesville girls’ basketball team is back in area, with its season on the line on Thursday night.
The Lady Bruins take on Shawnee at 8:00 PM at Jenks High School.
This will be the first matchup between Bartlesville and Shawnee since the BHS girls topped the Lady Wolves 34-32 in the Area Consolation Finals last year. That was the victory that sent Bartlesville to state. Shawnee will be the first non-Frontier Valley Conference team the Lady Bruins have played since early January. Head coach Donnie Martin talks about playing a different opponent.
Martin went on to say he was pleased with his team’s offensive performance in the Area tournament. BHS scored at a clip of 1.1 points per possession, which is good number for the Lady Bruins this year. It was offensive rebounds surrendered and some defensive miscues that cost Bartlesville down the stretch in its loss against Union
We will have Bartlesville and Shawnee Thursday night at 8:00 from Jenks on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
Win and BHS would advance to the Area Consolation Finals on Saturday, lose and the Lady Bruins season would be over.
