Kaleb Bashford - Patriot Auto Athlete of the Week
It’s another Monday, which means it’s time for another Patriot Family of Autos Area Athlete of the week – powered by Tri County Tech.
This week, we turn to Nowata to look at senior baseball and basketball standout, Kaleb Bashford. Bashford is a guy that has been a mainstay for Nowata Athletics for nearly all four years of his high school career.
Bashford really put the state on notice this season in hoops as he eclipsed 560 total-season points to help push him over the 1,000 total points benchmark. Bashford eclipsed that mark in a regional elimination game against Afton on February 23rd when he finished with 25-points.
Here is Bashford on hitting that accolade.
Bashford helped lead Nowata to a 12-15 record and to their second straight district-title victory and got the Ironmen to one game shy of the area tournament.
Kaleb says he has been multiple sports since he was a young kid, and that baseball is where he got his start. Bashford also says it wasn’t a parent or sibling that got him into sports, but instead it was a cousin.
With basketball having ended in February, and baseball just getting started for Nowata, that means Bashford’s high school career is almost up. The senior is slated to graduate this spring from Nowata High School.
