The No. 17 Nowata Ironmen took care of business on senior night with a 50-34 win over Dewey. The Ironmen played tough defense from start to finish to secure their 12th win of the season.

Nowata held the upper hand in a low-scoring first half. The Ironmen defense held Dewey to just one field goal throughout the first quarter. Senior Jace Thompson continued to show why he’s one of the top players in the Northeast Valley Conference. Thompson connected on five three-pointers in the game.

Nowata led 20-11 at halftime. The Doggers showed some signs of life in the third quarter. This Bryson Hudson triple help the Doggers try to fight back.

Nowata ultimately would build its lead down the stretch before emptying the bench to let every senior see the floor. Thompson led the team with 20 points. Dewey was led by Jake LaSpisa and Colby Miller who each had eight points.

Nowata takes on second-ranked Oklahoma Union in a pseudo-conference title game on Friday. Dewey hosts Caney Valley next.
