Indians Split With Three Rivers
The Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians were in action Wednesday evening as they split with Three Rivers winning the first game 9-7, but lost the second 9-1. In the first game, the Indians trailed 7-4 going into the bottom of the fifth inning when Bartlesville scored two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth to take a 9-7 lead. Bartlesville held the Bandits scoreless in the top of the seventh. Chase Hayes, in relief of starter Logan Reese, picked up his first win on the mound. In three innings of work, Hayes gave up two hits. Jacob Ruiz went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBI's while Wes Shaffer went 2 for 3. Ryan Behar went 2 for 4 with a RBI. Tyler Yardley, Chase Fiddler, Logan McNeil, and Garrett Meidl each got a hit. Each team committed four errors, but Three Rivers out hit the Indians 12-10.
It was a different outing in the second game as Three Rivers scored four of their nine runs in the top of the fifth to run-rule the Indians. Errors cost Bartlesville as they committed five errors, three of those errors occurred in the top of the fifth. Cory Murphy went the distance and took the loss. Murphy gave up nine runs on eight hits, walked two, and struck out three. Chase Fiddler went 2 for 3 with a RBI while Brady Sewell, Skyler Frizzell, and Bo McSpadden each got a hit.
The Indians are 18-19 overall and will host SEK Dingers Friday night at 6 o'clock.
