Indians Back At Enid Wednesday

The Doenges Ford Indians split another double-header against Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 on Tuesday evening, as Bartlesville embarks on its last big tournament of the season starting on Wednesday.

Bartlesville lost to Pittsburg 11-3 in game one and won game two 8-0, both were six-inning run-ruled shortened games.

In game one, Bartlesville had issues throwing strikes, as the Indians walked 13 guys in six frames. The Indians were up 2-0, but gave up 11 unanswered runs in the eventual six inning loss.

Bartlesville did have a couple good defensive plays that helped the Indians hang around, including this great relay throw that cut down a runner at home plate in the top of the fourth.

The Indians struck for a single run in the bottom of the sixth, but could still not avoid the run rule.

In game two, it was a much different story, mostly because of the pitching of Bradee Rigdon. Rigdon went the complete game, striking out five over his first three innings of work. He had to wiggle out of trouble in the fourth and fifth, but still threw six scoreless.

Offensively, Dakota Ward pounded a ball to wall to score two runs for the Indians in a two-run fourth.

The Indians stand at 16-19 entering play in their AABC State Tournament on Wednesday.

Bartlesville will take on Woodward at 7:30 PM from David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.

We will carry that contest on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3. You can also watch the game online as well on KWONTV.com.
