High School Athletics Participation Up

Participation in high school sports has reached an all-time high.

According to the National Federation of High School Associations – the overall number of kids playing high school sports increased for the 28^th consecutive year. This was based off last year’s survey from the NFHS. Nearly  8 million high schoolers from across the country played at some level of high school sport last year.

Girl’s athletics had the biggest jump, about 3.5 million girls played a high school sport last year. Football remains the number one participatory sport in the high school ranks for boys, basketball is tops in the nation for girls.
