It was a wild night of basketball in Ottawa that saw the Lady Eagles victorious while the seventh-ranked Eagles lost. The Lady Eagles used an early push to distance themselves from the Braves and ultimately won 86-66. OKWU is now 5-0 on the season.

OKWU went up 17-3 in the first five minutes and looked like it would leave Ottawa in the rearview mirror. However, the Lady Braves pulled within three points early in the second period. The Lady Eagles then slowly stretched the lead to double-figures by halftime at 47-34. OKWU would keep Ottawa at an arm's distance in the second half.

Nicole Ickes was instrumental in the OKWU charge as she equaled a career-high with 18 points. Makayla Watkins also notched a career-high with 15 points as she splashed in several three-pointers.

The men's team fought an uphill battle and saw a late comeback bid fall short to lose 89-87. The Eagles battled back from double-digit deficits in both halves. OKWU briefly led at 19-18 with 11 minutes left in the first half, but then Ottawa heated up and took a 47-42 lead into the break.

The Braves dominated the second half until the final minutes. Ottawa let a 14-point lead slip away in the last three minutes. The Eagles pulled within four on a Brooks Haddock three-pointer in the last thirty seconds, but they could only manage one last shot at the buzzer.

Lance Tipton notched a career-high 25 points with 10 rebounds. Haddock finished with 22 points. OKWU is now 3-2. The Eagles square off with Bacone on Saturday at 3 p.m.
