Dewey Has Tough Time in Adair

Dewey lost 18 seniors off a four win team in 2017, and the new Doggers got a baptism by fire on Friday night in their season opener at Adair.

The Warriors topped Dewey 60-0 to hand the Bulldoggers their third straight loss Adair in the past three seasons.

Adair recieved the opening kick off, and midway through its first drive the Warriors recovered their own fumble near the 50-yard line. On a third and long play, Adair struck for a 47-yard touchdown, and that would be a sign of things to come.

Adair had six touchdowns and five two-point conversions in the first half and led 52-0.

Dewey did have some chances to score. A nice Bulldogger kickoff return set them up inside Adair territory late in the first quarter.

The Doggers would throw an interception on the next play.

Nowata will travel to Dewey for a battle for the Adam Hooper Trophy on Friday night. We will have that broadcast on KRIG - 104.9 FM.
