Copan Football to Forfeit First Game
Copan's football season will get off to an 0-1 start, after administrators have chosen to forfeit the Hornet's game at home against Prue on Friday.
Head coach Shane Page said that although Copan has enough guys out for the team to play, not enough are eligible to play. Academic issues have plagued the Hornets, this dates back to last year's team. Page explains the issue.
Three players will not be able to play until after week 3 because of work in the classroom. However, Page said Copan has four more players that are coming out for the football team this week.
This means that Copan should be able to play on Sept. 8 against Watts.
That would be week two in Copan.
