Copan Football Has Successful Spring

Regular spring practice has wrapped up for high school football teams across the area. The Copan Hornets had a week and a half of practice here in Northeast Oklahoma before heading near the panhandle for team camp action toward the middle of last week.

Copan is a part of a handful of eight-man teams in the area who should be set up for great seasons. The Hornets are coming off a 4-6 season where they were only one win away from making the playoffs.

Copan returns most of its production off that team, with most players being sophomores this coming fall.

Head coach Marshall Foreman talks about the Hornet’s spring.

With a large group of incoming freshmen – Copan should have more than 20 guys on its football roster for the first time in a decade.

Foreman says the returning production plus bigger numbers means some higher hopes, and hopefully a playoff berth in 2023.

More on offseason football throughout the area all summer long.
