The Caney Valley Trojans baseball team rebounded nicely after a shutout loss to Oklahoma Union on Thursday night. Caney Valley came back to beat Dewey 7-3 and Chelsea 10-0 on day two of the Northeast Valley Conference Festival. The Trojans finish the event at 3-1.

The Trojans jumped on Dewey in the first inning of game one. After back-to-back walks to start the contest Ethan Nichols drove home two runs on this base knock.

Dewey would get a run in the bottom of the first inning on a Michael Caswell RBI single. The Trojans would scratch across five more runs over the next two innings to take a 7-1 lead. The Bulldoggers would respond with two more runs in the bottom of the third. Cole Hancock had two hits on the day and drove home a run on this liner.

Caleb Miller came out of the Dewey bullpen and pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to hold the score at 7-3. The game was called after five inning due to a time limit. Bryer Kramer went the distance for the Trojans to earn the win in game one.

Our coverage of the NEVC Festival will continue on Saturday with a contest between Oklahoma Union and Nowata at 1:30 p.m. That game can be heard on KRIG 104.9 FM.
