Bruins End Season in Regionals

Bartlesville High baseball had its 2024 season end on Wednesday after another gutsy performance in the 6A Regionals.

Union topped BHS 6-1 in an elimination game in its own Regional. The victory for the Redhawks ends a two-game Regional win streak for BHS against Union.

It was a somewhat similar refrain for Bartlesville, where the Bruins battled but did not have enough firepower with the bats to keep up with Union. Redhawks scored three in the third then single runs down the stretch to keep BHS at arm’s length.

The only run of the game for Bartlesville scored in the sixth. BHS had the bases loaded and one out when Brett Eaves nearly changed the game, but a great play by the Union left fielder kept the Bruins at bay.

Bartlesville’s pitching in Kaden Romesburg and Grant Clark gave BHS a chance. Romesburg put up two zeros to begin the game. He also limited damage in a big spot for the Union offense.

With the bases loaded and no one out in the third, he induced a double play to help get out of a jam.

Bartlesville will graduate five seniors off this past season’s team but will return two of its top three starting pitchers and several underclassmen in the lineup.

BHS ended its year at 13-22.
