Bruins Continue to Work

Bartlesville High School is still holding workouts on campus, as the Bruins are in their fourth week of weightlifting and other activities since the structured reopening of campus on June 15.

So far, so good, for BHS and their workouts. Athletic Director Thad Dilbeck says that everyone has stayed healthy, adhering to the guidelines that Bartlesville has set.

Dilbeck says overall the biggest positives is coaches and players getting to see each other again after a long layoff because of the coronavirus.

The OSSAA has started to prepare for the upcoming fall sports season. One of the first steps the organization took was to tweak its policy on forfeits and district standings if games had to be canceled or postponed until later in the season.

Nothing is set in stone, but Dilbeck says that both at the statewide level and locally people are getting set for the fall.

Some bigger decisions will have to be made at the statewide level in the coming days and weeks, as fall sports practices for cross country and volleyball are scheduled to begin on July 15.
