Bruin Football Helps With Community Cleanup

The sight of downed trees on Tuesday morning after storms blew through Bartlesville sparked an idea of community involvement for the Bartlesville High football team.

Instead of doing their usual Bruin Pride workouts on Thursday, Bartlesville football players went around town and helped clean the damage. First year BHS head coach Lee Blankenship talks about the idea.

Blankenship said a bigger crew of Bruins went to Hillcrest Country Club to help with its major tree damage that has closed the course. Several other smaller groups went around town to elderly and disabled people's homes.

Blankenship says he wants to install the idea of helping others in his players.

7-9 AM was still spend doing lifting for the Bruin football players, just like it will be all summer.

This lifting just happened to help someone else.
