Bruin Boys Basketball Season Ends

Bartlesville High boys hoops had it’s season come to an end in the first round of the 6A Regionals on Friday night at Norman North High School.

Midwest City knocked BHS out 70-54.

It was a four-minute stretch midway through the second quarter that did Bartlesville in. Midwest City extended an eight-point first quarter lead to 30.

Despite the large deficit, the Bruins hung in. BHS would get the lead down to 12 points late in the fourth quarter, but dug themselves too big of a hole.

This transition basket from Aadhi Ayyapan would get the Bruins within 16 in the first minute of the fourth quarter.

David Castillo led Bartlesville in scoring, who had 21. Castillo, a freshman, finishes the year averaging 23.5 points-per-game and scored more than 17 points in 20 of the Bruins 21 games this season.

The Bruins lone senior was Adam Nakvinda.

Bartlesville ends the year at 6-15.
