Bruin Baseball Ends Season at Union

Bartlesville baseball fought hard but fell in the championship game of the Union Regional on Thursday evening.

BHS split two games, winning game one over Sapulpa in the afternoon, 7-3, but then losing to the No. 1 seed Union 13-1 in the nightcap.

BHS ends its season at 24-14.

It was a gutsy day for BHS all the way around just to get to the title game. Good hitting and a tremendous pitching outing from senior William Parsley got the Bruins the four-run win over Sapulpa in game one.

Parsley scattered 10 hits over seven innings. He struck out four and walked three while giving up just three runs, only two of them earned, in the win. This strike out in the third stranded two Sapulpa runners.

The Bruins led by only one run until BHS started to break things open in the fifth. Bartlesville would score three runs, all with two outs, to extend their lead. This double from Bradee Rigdon helped the BHS cushion.

BHS was thin on pitching entering the second game. Bartlesville got some great innings from Hayden Catlin and Brenden Asher, but couldn’t hold the Union lineup down.

Union led 6-1 into the sixth, then tacked on seven more to run-rule BHS in six.
