Area Teams Dwindle in HS Playoffs

We are down to just a handful of area high school football teams still around in the playoffs, as both Oklahoma Union and Barnsdall bowed out over the weekend.

A banged-up Cougar team fell at home to Morrison on Friday, as Oklahoma Union lost 30-7. The Cougars were without their starting quarterback and a few others.

Meanwhile Barnsdall lost to Regent Prep 67-16. The Panthers ran into a buzz-saw, as the Rams appear to be ready to make their third straight appearance in the Class B finals this year.

Only team across Osage, Washington and Nowata County is left  - Pawhuska.

The Huskies will have a Black Friday matchup with Warner from Ormond Beach Stadium at 7:00 this weekend.

Pawhuska has yet to play a game in the Class A postseason despite being in the third round. The Huskies previous opponent came down with COVID-19 issues before the game. PHS had a first-round bye.

More on that contest throughout this week. We will have Pawhuska on 99.1 FM – KPGM and KPGMTV.com for you on Friday night.

Collinsville will face Guthrie in 5A on Friday. Owasso will take on Jenks on Friday evening, as well.
