Emergency Management Receives $28K Grant for New Firefighting Equipment

The Washington County Commissioners approved the receipt of a donation for Emergency Management on Monday.
The $28,000 donation from the Lyon Foundation is for the replacement of two firefighting mule ATVs. Emergency Management Director Kary Cox says the older mules were purchased in the early 2000s and needed to be replaced.
He says the donation will pay for the new mules, that are much better and needed for firefighting in rural, hard-to-reach areas with difficult terrain.
