Update: One Person Dead following Overnight Police Shooting

UPDATE: One person is dead following a police shooting in Bartlesville early Wednesday morning. Capt. Daniel Elkins with the Bartlesville Police Department held a press conference shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday to share the details of what happened.

While only one officer fired the shot, the three responding officers have all been placed on administrative leave while the Bartlesville Police Department conducts an internal affairs investigation.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has also been called to investigate the shooting.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a police shooting early Wednesday morning in Bartlesville.

According to a release from the Bartlesville Police Department, the BPD received a call for service at approximately 1:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of Madison Boulevard where the shooting took place at approximately 4 a.m. Wednesday. That is near the intersection of Nowata Road.

The police department says the OSBI has been called to investigate the incident. A news conference has been called for 11 a.m. Bartlesville Radio will be in attendance.
