Chestnut Talks Hot Dogs with KWON
It is a 4th of July tradition in America – the Nathans Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest will take place on Tuesay morning in Coney Island, New York.
Competitors in this year’s contest will have 10 minutes to eat the most hot dogs and buns they can.
Last year the No.1 eater in the world Joey Chestnut won with 63 hot dogs and buns. This was his eighth Mustard Yellow Belt in a row. Chestnut is the 15-time champion of the event.
The Independence Day contest always takes place at the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues in Coney Island, New York.
The record for the event is 76 hot dogs and buns, set by Chestnut in 2021. Chestnut is currently -3,000 odds to win the event, with the over-under of dogs set at 72.5.
Miki Sudo is the defending women’s champion, she won last year with 40 hot dogs and buns.
Thousands of are expected to flock to the original Nathan’s location to watch the competition, which will be broadcast live on the ESPN Family of Networks.
The women’s competition begins at 10:00 AM, while the men’s competition starts at 11:00 AM.
The annual hot dog eating contest has been held every year since 1916.
