ORU Heads to Omaha
Fomer Bruin Jakob Hall and the ORU Golden Eagles are headed to the big dance in Omaha for the first time in 45 years after the Eagles completed the 2-1 series victory with an 11-6 win on Sunday night. The Golden Eagles had to fight off elimination twice this weekend after dropping game one to Oregon on Friday.
Oral Roberts had a wild come-from behind walk-off win Saturday night that sent us to a deciding game three on Sunday. Speaking of Sunday, last night the Eagles needed just one win to punch their ticket to the CWS, and they would do exactly that. ORU actually fell behind early 3-1 after the 1st inning, but this single from the Eagles would knot things up at three a piece.
ORU would extend their lead after adding three runs in the top of the 7th and 9th innings. Here is what the final out sounded like for the Golden Eagles.
Oral Roberts becomes the first 4 seeded team to make a College World Series since Stony Brook did it back in 2012. First game for ORU in the College World Series will be on Friday against the TCU Horned Frogs, game times have not yet been announced.
