Nowata Boys Win Big Over South Coffeyville
The Nowata Ironmen Boys basketball squad came away with a huge win last night over South Coffeyville, 72-15. This game was over pretty much after it tipped off, as Ironmen led 33-0 after the end of the first quarter. Nowata Head Coach Nate Smith pulled his starters out after about 6 minutes were played in the first and they would not play again until the second half.
The Ironmen would outscore the Lions 39-15 in the second half, including this bucket from Senior guard Eli Savala in the 4th.
The Ironmen got to play a lot of guys that wouldn’t normally play or have not had a lot of minutes thus far this season. Coach Smith for the Ironmen talks about how important that is to their season.
Ironmen see their winning streak improve to 3, and move to 8-4. The girls lost their game to the Lady Lions, 52-36. Nowata is playing back to back this week, as they take on Oklahoma Union tonight on the road, tip off around 8 pm.
