After last month’s sudden resignations by two board members, the Dewey Public School Board spent this month’s meeting announcing new positions and members as well as revisiting some issues that require full board approval to proceed.

Amanda Guilfoyle, former Vice-President of the Board, was moved to President. David Cleveland, former Clerk of the Board was moved to Vice President. Amy LaSprisa was assigned to be the Clerk. And Emily Case joined the board to replace Ryan Higbee.

Some tabled items were addressed and approved including hiring of new teachers for the elementary school and signing off on support services for school safety and speech & language pathology. Three resignations were accepted from teachers.

The Board also approved transfers of funds, a professional development schedule for staff and teachers, the Parent-Student Handbook and the continuation of Tri-County Tech courses for high school credit.
