A pastor by day, a Christian rapper by night.

The audio version of this story can be found here.

Caleb Gordon of Bartlesville, the Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale, Kansas, saw a dream that was 30 years in the making come true at the Bartlesville Community Center on Sunday night. Gordon got the chance to join Michael Tait from the Newsboys live on stage, and together they rapped to "Jesus Freak" by DC Talk, a group Tait had been a part of in the past.

7th grade Caleb would have literally been so excited. Gordon says he has been listening to the Newsboys, DC Talk and others for decades. He says he told his wife that rapping Jesus Freak to his steering wheel all those years had finally paid off.

The house was packed at the BCC. Gordon, without hesitation, stood proudly from Row U when Tait asked someone to rap "Jesus Freak" with him.

"I'LL DO IT," Gordon exclaimed over and over until he was finally chosen. He was the only one to take a stand.

Heading down the stairs, Gordon was looking up the lyrics to the song just in case he forgot the words. Gordon says he was not going to blow his big moment. He says he was nervous, but everything clicked once Tait started talking to him.

Gordon was really feeling confident when Tait started to sing. When the time finally came, Gordon rapped the lyrics to perfection to the delight of the crowd. Gordon says he loved every minute of moment. He says it was fantastic.

Video of the performance can be viewed below.

Leaping into action is tough, but it is worthwhile. Gordon says you don't want to look back and ask, "What if...?" He says you have to keep looking forward to do whatever you can to shine the light of Jesus to the world.

Gordon says it is always his hope to share Christ. He says he wears the badge of "Jesus Freak" as an honor when he goes out into the world.

The moment last approximately 45 seconds. Gordon says it was faster than a rollercoaster ride at Silver Dollar City. He says he's not a rapper, but he loved every minute of harmony with Tait, the band, and the crowd.

You can listen to Gordon's sermons on sister station KGGF 690 AM out of Coffeyville, Kansas. For KGGF's Sunday morning radio line-up can be found here.

Christians can be reluctant to step-out and look crazy. Gordon says Christians are called to be "salt" and "light" while exposing darkness, pushing it away. He says we are called to do hard things that might be uncomfortable, but fall in line with what God wants us to do.

Sharing Jesus from the stage is what the Newsboys concert was all about. Gordon says he was proud to do just that when he sang with Tait on Sunday night. He says he got to share the stage with people that love the Lord as well.

When Christians are bold with their faith, the world takes notice. Gordon says they the world will see something different about you doing what you're doing. He says the world will question why, which makes it a perfect opportunity for you to share how Jesus has transformed your life from point A to point B.

In a recent blog post about the special moment, Gordon references Philippians 3:12-14, which reads as follows:

"Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

God's got a calling on every believer's life. Gordon encourages you to look ahead, not behind. Gordon says you have to look forward to who Jesus is: the Author and the Perfecter of our faith. He says we have been called as Christian to look to Jesus, not ourselves.

What does Christ got next for you to do? Gordon says that question alone will change the world. He says we need to take a stand for our faith and rustle some feathers when it comes to taking on issues in our world, because the enemy has an agenda to win the momentary battles.

Regardless of what culture says, Gordon says Christ is right. Gordon encourages you to not be afraid. He says one person can change the world, and it starts with you stepping into your Christ-focused purpose. Have a "blast-radius" that transforms the world for God's glory, not for chaos and destruction.
