Boys Scouts Friends of Scouting Fundraiser February 17

The 2022 Friends of Scouting Annual Fundraiser is right around the corner and you can show your support for the Cherokee Area Council of the BSA.

This event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Bartlesville Community Center. The goals is to honor all FOS Patrons and encourage new members as they are the backbone of financial support for Scouting in Northeast Oklahoma. This will be a come and go event.

Over 2,500 youth and leaders are counting on you to carry on its traditional values and leadership training.

In 2021, the Cherokee Area Council BSA saw 20 Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, which was triple the national average. Other highlights for the Council in 2021 include:

  • First Council in Membership performance in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
  • Fourth in Nation in Female Diversity.
  • Received five James E. West Endowment gifts, for the third year in a row.
  • Top 10-percent in Nation in Fundraising performance.
  • Top 10 in the Nation in Ethnic Diversity.
  • Top 10-percent in the Nation in Fundraising performance
  • Receive the Board Diversity Award from NST 8, for the third year in a row.
  • Host free STEM NOVA session for Scouts and Electronic Merit Badge Sessions.
  • Top 10-percent in Market Share with 4.82-percent of available youth in Northeast Oklahoma. The National standard is 2-percent.
  • Number 2 over all in Fundraising performance in NST 8.
  • New and updated website.
  • Remodeled the Cherokee Area Council 469 mini studio to help with hybrid meetings, training sessions, board meetings and program delivery.
  • Hosted asynchronous certification for the Cherokee Area Council 469, to help units with delivering scouting remotely.
  • All children on the Scouting Giving Tree received every uniform item needed with strong community, board, and United Way support.
