Wash. Co. Commissioners Remember Chief Owens
The Owens & Company Fire Department in southern Washington County continues to celebrate the life of Chief Todd Owens.
Washington County Commissioner Mike Dunlap said they lost a valuable citizen in Chief Owens on Monday morning. Dunlap said Chief Owens had a heart of gold. He said Owens is someone they are going to miss because he would do just about anything for anybody.
Commissioner Dunlap said Chief Owens lived one heck of a life. He said they had nothing but respect for Owens in Washington County.
Chief Owens, a former Northwest Rogers County Fire Department Battalion Chief, led the department for 25 years in Vera. Owens also had served as Vera's mayor and owned a restaurant.
Services for Chief Owens will be held on Monday, Oct. 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the Caney Valley high school gym in Ramona.
