A Catoosa man was arrested in Nowata County recently for allegedly strangling his girlfriend.

38-year-old Andrew Vanzant was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 2 for Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation. When the Nowata County Sheriff's Office and the South Coffeyville Police Department arrived at the scene, Vanzant was found hiding in a locked camper.

A further investigation has shown that Vanzant has been accused of banging his girlfriend's head onto the floor while threatening to kill her and throw her body into the river. Vanzant is currently in jail with a $10,000 bond.
