Three leaders within Washington County Emergency Management were presented with High Performance Leadership Master Certificates on Monday morning.

WCEM Director Kary Cox, Deputy Director Melissa Mayes, and Deputy Director Eric Ashlock were presented with the honors. Washington County Commissioner Mitch Antle said the trio went through a professional development academy sponsored through the National Association of Counties (NACo). He said they went through the fast-paced online course for 12 weeks.

On behalf of the Washington County Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Antle said they appreciate everything the Emergency Operation Center and their staff does. He said professional development is always something that they strive for, and for the WCEM's leadership to engage at a high level is exemplary.

Cox added that the course was one of the more interesting and beneficial courses he's ever attended.
