Bartlesville Radio: The area’s best source for news, weather and sports!

The Washington County Community Council (WCCC) along with members of the Bartlesville Police Department, Dewey Police Department, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office will host a training seminar that is open to the public.

The seminar will take place on Saturday, April 24th, at 10:00 a.m. at Tri County Tech. Those that attend the training will run through the MILO training simulator used by National Police training centers.

A group of people wanted to start a neighborhood watch program, so the WCCC, along with local police agencies and the Sheriff's Office, took the time to build this training seminar so that the people could be more proficient at serving their community by further looking out for their fellow neighbor. Members of the WCCC say neighborhood watches can be vital to community relations and a tool for policing neighborhoods.

The aim of the training is to enlighten you to the everyday hazards officers face and the reaction time they need to have when it comes to decision making. The purpose for hosting a training of this nature is to build community awareness as well as good relations between the community and local law enforcement.

The Washington County Community Council will also host its monthly meeting on Thursday, April 15th, at the Westside Community Center at 7:00 p.m.
