Tom Davis
U.S. Congressman for Oklahoma Kevin Hern stopped by our Bartlesville Radio studios on Wednesday to discuss a few topics.

We first talked about the COVID-19 situation. It was revealed yesterday that the hospitalization cases in Bartlesville are down considerably. Hern said the nation, as a whole, is doing better with Oklahoma among the top 10 states getting the vaccines in peoples' arms.

The discussion turned toward the border issue where the congressman identified several problems developing just after the Biden administration started rolling back all the progress made by former President Trump.

Congressman Hern and Senator Inhofe recently reintroduced the Asylum Abuse Reduction Act to help quell the chaos at the border.

Lastly, the discussion turned to President Biden's infrastructure plan for roads, mostly, that will cost over two trillion dollars over 7 years. Hern said there will be a massive tax increase that will come with it. He also said there will be another one at about the same cost or more for a 10-year infrastructure to accomodate the "Green New Deal"  Hern is concerned that the push for this plan will harm the fossil fuel industry in Oklahoma that makes up 35% of the state's economy.
