A Bartlesville man accused of first degree murder is slated for a competency review court date next month. 45-year-old Shawn Lynch is accused of shooting and killing his roommate Kolton Edwards in May 2019.

During an August 10 court date the competency review was requested by the defense. Lynch is represented by Benjamin Watters. The matter was slated to go to trial on August 17. The review will be conducted by the Oklahoma Forensic Center. The results of this review will be presented at a status docket date on October 23.

Lynch had no criminal history at the time of the alleged murder. Lynch remains in custody at the Washington County Jail on a $950,000 bond.
